The Wild, the Beautiful and the Damned explores the
different meanings and uses of ‘beauty’ at the late Stuart Court.
This is a sensual story of beautiful women, of beautiful art, of
glamour, celebrity and love, and of beauty secrets, lust,
infidelity and death.
In this talk Brett Dolman introduces the court and its most famous courtiers and mistresses of Charles II — Barbara Villiers, Nell Gwyn and Louise de Kéroualle — for whom beauty provided a fast track to wealth, power and influence.
